Belkin's new SoundForm headphones come with a built-in relaxation track for when *gestures* all this becomes too much

Belkin has launched a pair of new sub-$100 over ear headphones: the SoundForm Isolate and SoundForm Surround, but the Isolate is all about relaxation.

Sometimes when the world gets a bit too much, I put on a good pair of noise-cancelling headphones and play some Nintendo Music. Not one of the boss battle tunes, though, obviously – more a relaxing background sound to help me unwind.

Belkin had the genius idea to pack that concept directly into its new SoundForm Isolate headphones. Press the right combination of buttons and the headphones will start playing the gentle sounds of ocean waves breaking to help distract you from your current existential crisis. It'll play on a loop until you decide to turn it off.

The SoundForm Isolate headphones also happen to be Belkin's first pair of ANC over-ear headphones. Offering up to 25dB of noise reduction with ANC switched on and supporting passthrough audio as well, the headphones use five microphones and 40mm drivers to deliver sound.

It offers both USB-C and 3.5mm connections, and up to 60 hours of playback with ANC switched off, or 40 hours with it on.

If you don't need the ANC or the built-in relaxation track, Belkin has also launched the SoundForm Surround headphones. These have a similar design to the Isolate, but because they don't have the ANC functions, are a bit cheaper on the price front.

You still get 40mm drivers, 3.5mm and USB-C connectivity and up to 60 hours of battery life, though. There's also BlueTooth 5.4 support for multi-point pairiong to two devices, and Belkin's Clear Call technology.

Like most of Belkin's lineup, both headphones are made with recycled plastics and come in 100% plastic-free packaging.

Both the SoundForm Isolate and the SoundForm Surround headphones are available now.

  • The SoundForm Surround comes in Black, Sand, Olive and Blue colour options with an RRP of $69.95.
