Even with an obvious tactile crease, foldable phones are still super-impressive pieces of tech.

But OPPO's promise that the Find N6 has a "zero-feel crease" is interesting. A device that truly adapts between phone and tablet modes, with no tactile indication?

I'm keen.

Solving the crease

OPPO's latest foldable phone promises a Zero-Feel Crease, which aims to eliminate the physical "dip" common in book-style foldables. OPPO has achieved this through a new titanium hinge manufactured using "3D liquid printing", which fills microscopic gaps to create a flatter surface for the display to rest on.

This engineering focus extends to long-term durability, with the device rated for up to one million fold cycles. To put that in perspective, the screen should remain flat and functional even if you unfold it hundreds of times a day for years.

"Foldables have always promised a bigger, more immersive smartphone experience, but the crease has been one of the biggest barriers to that promise being fully realised," said Michael Tran, Managing Director of OPPO Australia.

Flagship power and Hasselblad imaging

Under the hood, the Find N6 runs on the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with a large 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. This high-density battery technology allows the phone to remain ultra-slim while still supporting 80W wired fast charging to get you back to full power quickly.

The camera system sees a significant boost through a continued partnership with Hasselblad. It features a massive 200MP main sensor and a 3x periscope telephoto lens that can handle macro shots, making it one of the most versatile camera setups on any foldable to date.

For those using the 8.12-inch inner screen for work, the new ColorOS 16 software allows you to run four apps simultaneously. You can also pair the device with the optional OPPO AI Pen, which can turn hand-drawn sketches into polished artwork or act as a laser pointer for presentations.

Built for the elements

Foldables have historically been fragile, but the Find N6 carries a range of certifications including IP56, IP58, and IP59. This means the device is well-protected against dust and can survive high-pressure water jets or being submerged in water.

The device will be available in Stellar Titanium and a Blossom Orange finish that includes gold accents on the hinge.

Pricing and availability

The OPPO Find N6 has an RRP of $3,299, while the OPPO AI Pen is sold separately and priced at $199.

Pre-orders begin in Australia on 2 April through the OPPO Australia Online Store and JB Hi-Fi, with the official Australian release date on 16 April.
