Roborock looks to take over the budget robot vacuum market with five new models

New Qrevo and Q-series robot vacuums range in price from $399 to $1,699, ensuring there's a model for all price points.

I tend to get more excited by the premium products in any given category. For robot vacuums, the premium models have impressive roller mops or movable arms that pick up obstacles.

But for most people, those devices are priced out of reach. The good news is that in the robot vacuum category at least, things are moving so fast that even the entry level models can offer performance on par with the flagships of just a few years ago.

Roborock is showing that off with its launch of five new models today. Just five months after it launched the Qrevo Edge and Qrevo Curve, it has two new mid-range Qrevo models: the Qrevo C and Qrevo L.

In addition, there are three new Q-series vacuums (the Q10V+, Q7T+ and Q7B), which bring impressive suction and hair tangle management to entry level units.

"Roborock has been at the forefront of smart home cleaning innovations for over 11 years, and we’re proud to be a global leader in the robot vacuum market. Through deep customer research, we’ve designed the Roborock Qrevo Series to offer maximum value to users looking for the perfect mid-range robot vacuum. More than a quarter of Australians say they’d rather never clean their floors again, the Qrevo C and Qrevo L are designed exactly for them, delivering the perfect balance of performance and convenience."

– Richard Chang, Founder & CEO of Roborock.

Let's take a closer look at each model.

Qrevo C:

The most expensive of the new models offers 12,000Pa of suction, a reactive tech obstacle avoidance system and up to seven weeks of hands free maintenence with the dock.

It also continues Roborock's promise of 100% hair removal and 0% hair tangling.

On the mopping from you get dual spinning mops with 10mm mop lifting. The mop also extends out to help clean along edges.

The Qrevo C has an RRP of $1,699.

Qrevo L:

Drop the price $200 and you have the Qrevo L, with 10,000Pa of suction, an anti-tangle side brush and the reactive tech obstacle avoidance system.

The Qrevo L has Dual spinning mops with 10mm mop lifting, with teh ability to customise the water flow to 30 different levels in the Roborock app.

The Multifunctional Dock includes 3-stage mop washing, air drying, and auto dustbin emptying with SGS-certified 99.9% pollen filtration (like the Qrevo C).

The Qrevo L has an RRP of $1,499.

Q10V+

If you're not too fussed on having your robot vacuum mop for you, the Q10V+ offers 10,000Pa of suction with the same dual anti-tangle system as the Qrevo models.

But instead of spinning mops, it uses the "Advanced VibraRise 2.0 sonic mopping system", which scrubs floors at up to 3,000 times per minute and automatically lifts when carpet is detected. From experience, these mopping pads don't do a great job, though.

The Q10V+ os compatible with Roborock’s Auto-Empty RockDock Plus, which stores dust for up to 7 weeks, but doesn't have a water tank to automatically clean your mop pads.

The Q10V+ has an RRP of $1,299.

Q7T+

For $799 RRP, the Q7T+ seems like a solid offering. You get 10,000Pa of suction, a dual anti-tangle system and compatibility with the Auto-Empty RockDock Plus for seven weeks of dust collection.

It only uses LiDAR navigation for mapping an navigating your home, and the mopping system is just three levels of water flow through a vibrating pad, but for the price I think it's still worth consideration.

Q7B

This new entry-level robot vacuum offers LiDAR navigation and a simple vibrating mop with three levels of water flow. But it also delivers 8,000 Pa of suction and Roborock's dual anti-tangle system.

At $399, that's a lot of spec for a budget price.
