I really love the design of the ASUS ROG Tessen
I unbox ASUS's mobile gaming controller the ROG Tessen, and it has a phenomenal design let down by some compatibility challenges.

If you follow me on socials, you might soon surmise that I'm rounding up mobile gaming controllers with some of the recent unboxings (and the unboxings to come!).
The ASUS ROG Tessen is the most unique of all the controllers I have to review, thanks to its unique folding design. I love it. It's convenient on the storage front, looks fantastic and feels really, really well built.
But there are a few issues I've encountered in the short time I've had it. This probably isn't new information for anyone who has done their proper research, but its still came as a bit of a shock to me.
The first, and biggest hurdle, is that this controller is Android only. It does not work with iOS.
I threw it in my bag yesterday on the way to a meeting without realising this, expecting to plug in the iPhone 16 Pro Max and enjoy some COD: Mobile on the train. I was very, very disappointed by this discovery.
The second challenge is that the game selection isn't universal. COD: Mobile on Android is not supported – It appears that COD: Mobile is only designed to support Bluetooth controllers, rather than plug-in models.
That's not really ASUS's fault, I know, but how far does that challenge extend? When you buy a product like this, you're going to want to know that it will work.
I've had the Tessen for less than 24 hours now, so I plan on testing it a lot more thoroughly before publishing a full review.
