BTTR Roundup #54: Fortnite headed back to iOS in Australia
Australian courts rule Apple was anti-competitive with its payment methods, clearing the way for Fortnite's eventual iOS return.

Big news for mobile gamers this week: Fortnite should be returning to iOS. Federal Judge Jonathan Beach found that both Apple and Google had misused their market power in the way they run their app stores.
The ruling is well over 1,000 pages, and not all the details are public yet, but Epic Games is confident that we'll be seeing Fortnite back on the App Store soon.
For me, the whole situation raises questions about just how much we can trust the big tech companies, even when they have a strong focus on privacy and security.
I go into that a bit more in the paid section of this week's newsletter. Consider subscribing β at just $10 a month, it goes a long way to help me creating better content for you.
Are you excited for Fortnite's return to the App Store? Let me know in the comments below!
I also got my review of the Shokz OpenFit 2+ out the door this week. If you're after a great pair of running earbuds, these could be the ideal choice. That said β as someone who doesn't run, I personally prefer the OpenDots One.
Until next week

This week's new tech news
BTTR is independent, but we may earn money when you purchase through links on our site.- Sennheiser is celebrating 80 years of audio excellence, and has just dropped a limited edition pair of its MOMENTUM 4 wireless headphones. Designed in collaboration with graffiti artist Bond Truluv, the headphones land on 21 August at JB Hi-Fi, Amazon, Harvey Norman and Sennheiser's website, and come with a free BTD 600 Bluetooth transmitter until 10 September. They'll set you back $639.95 RRP, but do look pretty cool. [Sennheiser]
- In further evidence the streaming market is broken, Netflix has jacked up prices in Australia again. The 4K content stream will now set you back $28.99 a month, the standard plan costs $20.99 a month, and the entry plan with ads costs $9.99 per month. Mark my words, the streaming market is going to collapse soon β these prices are just not sustainable for most people, and piracy is on the cards again.
- As mentioned above, Fortnite could be heading back to iOS in Australia. We've been waiting for the ruling from the Australian courts in Epic's landmark case against Apple and Google (which had been consolidated into one mega-case). While the whole thing isn't quite finalised (the ruling has over 1,000 pages), the initial ruling is that Apple and Google reduced competition by preventing side loaded apps and alternate payment methods. There's no clear timeline of when and how Fortnite will relaunch on mobile in Australia, but fingers crossed it's soon. [via The Guardian]
- Razer has launched a pair of new low-profile BlackWidow V4 Hyperspeed keyboards β both full-sized and tenkeyless. They come with the choice of Razer's new low-profile mechanical switches, so you can have your keyboard clicky (green switch), linear (yellow switch) or tactile (orange switch) to match your own preference, but with a lower profile than previous generations. You still get RGB lighting and up to 980 hours of battery life. RRPs sit at $359.95 for the full-size and $299.95 for the tenkeyless model. [Razer]
- Razer also has its new Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC pro gaming controller for PC gamers. It offers 8000 Hz HyperPolling, anti-drift TMR thumbsticks, and pro-grade customisation, targeting those that want the best possible performance from a gaming controller. It'll set you back $329.95. [Razer]
