Ecovacs may be best known for its vacuums, but it's actually a robotics company at heart. Alongside its excellent robot vacuums, it has released products like the Goat Robot lawnmower and the incredible Winbot window cleaner.

At CES this year, Ecovacs is expanding its lineup even further.

The ecovace Ultramarine at the edge of a pool

To start with, Ecovacs is launching Ultramarine, its first robotic pool cleaner. It's a logical extension of the company's expertise in cleaning robots, bringing the same navigation and perception technologies that have made its vacuum cleaners so successful to the pool maintenance space.

Ultramarine is designed to handle everything from fine debris to stubborn stains, with high-efficiency filtration systems built to withstand outdoor conditions. It's designed to transform pool maintenance from a chore into something that just happens automatically in the background.

The Ecovacs T90 Pro Omni

New vacuum flagships with longer rollers

On the vacuum front, Ecovacs is showcasing the Deebot T90 Pro Omni and the Deebot X12 Family, which feature the latest evolution of its Ozmo Roller self-washing mopping technology.

The Ozmo Roller 3.0 system includes a 26cm roller, which is 50% longer than the previous generation, allowing it to double cleaning efficiency by covering more floor area with each pass.

The system now uses 16 nozzles for pressurised self-washing, helping to flush away embedded dirt for streak-free results.

Since launching on the Deebot X8, Ecovacs' Ozmo Roller products have sold over 1.6 million units globally, accounting for more than 91% of total sales in the self-washing roller mopping category worldwide.

The top-tier Deebot X12 Pro Omni and X12 OmniCyclone add an infrared stain detector and dual high-pressure nozzles that identify stubborn stains and deliver crossed water jets to break down dried residue before mopping.

The X12 Family can also clean areas up to 1,000mΒ² in a single run thanks to upgraded PowerBoost Charging Plus.

The new Goat robot lawnmower

Outdoor robots get smarter

The Goat lawnmower series is getting upgraded with the new Goat A and Goat O models, which feature what Ecovacs claims is the industry's first fully integrated TruEdge Trimmer with AI enhancement. This combines mowing and edge trimming into one autonomous process, eliminating manual follow-up work.

When I reviewed the Worx Landroid robot lawnmower the edges were a constant struggle, so I am definitely keen to see how Ecovacs solves this problem.

The HoloScope 360 Dual-LiDAR Navigation System in the new Goat models offers navigation accuracy within two centimetres and reduces setup time to under one minute, even working in low light or at night.

Window cleaning also gets an upgrade with the Winbot W3 Omni, which introduces a multifunctional station with a Vortex Wash function that automatically cleans the wiping pad. This eliminates direct contact with dirty water and manual cloth handling.

A robotic pet joins the family

Unexpectedly, Ecovacs also announced LilMilo, its first robotic pet companion. It combines multi-sensory perception with expressive, pet-like behaviour to create what Ecovacs describes as "digital companionship rooted in warmth and interactive intelligence."

I will be surprised if this makes it to Australian stores, but alongside products like the LG CLOiD robot, there's a growing trend for robotics companies to showcase more "companion" based products rather than just strict utilities.

Alongside all these product announcements, Ecovacs unveiled a new brand philosophy: "Created for Ease." David Cheng Qian, Vice Chairman of Ecovacs Group and CEO of Ecovacs Robotics, said the idea reflects the company's commitment to using service robotics to relieve users of routine household tasks.

"We are among the first to introduce robots with embodied intelligence, and with this we enter the next era of our evolution," said Cheng Qian. "We continue to strengthen our leadership in service robotics by launching new categories and unveiling breakthrough technologies."

Ecovacs invested USD $126 million in R&D last year, which was a 7.3% increase year-on-year, and has invested over USD $638 million cumulatively since 2018. The company now serves more than 38 million households across nearly 180 global markets.

While we don't have Australian pricing or availability announcements for its new lineup of robotic cleaners, it's safe to say we'll see many of them within a few months.
