LG's Signature Fridge wants to chat about your dinner plans at CES 2026

The revolution of adding "intelligence" to our kitchen appliances continues, with LG unveiling its Signature brand of appliances at CES this year.

The key product, as you might expect, is the new Signature Refrigerator, which is equipped with conversational AI.

Using Large Language Model (LLM) technology, the same tech that powers ChatGPT and similar services, the fridge can hold natural conversations with you. It'll provide tailored suggestions based on what you ask it, all through a new 6.8-inch LCD display on the door.

But the AI doesn't stop at conversation. The fridge includes an AI Fresh feature that learns your usage patterns and can pre-cool the interior up to two hours before it predicts you'll open the door. It's a clever way to maintain optimal temperatures and keep your food fresher for longer.

The Smart InstaView model takes things further with ThinQ Food, which uses an internal camera to identify what food is in your fridge. It can then suggest recipes based on those ingredients, or offer substitutions if you're missing something. When you're not checking your groceries, the InstaView panel can display artwork to liven up your kitchen.

Beyond the fridge

LG's also showing off a new Signature Oven Range with some impressive AI tricks of its own. The Gourmet AI feature uses an internal camera to recognise more than 85 different dishes and automatically select the right cooking settings.

There's also an AI Browning feature that monitors your bread as it bakes and sends you a notification through the ThinQ app when it hits your preferred level of doneness.

You can monitor everything in real-time through your smartphone, and the oven will create a time-lapse recap of your cooking that you can share on social media, because we all need to be food influencers now.

Three flavours of premium

The Signature lineup is being organised into three new design collections: Seamless, Iconic, and Tailored. Each maintains the brand's "Refined Minimal" aesthetic with sleek horizontal lines and those distinctive gold accents, but gives buyers options to match their personal style.

LG is also partnering with Italian luxury furniture brand Poliform at CES to show how these appliances fit into high-end home environments.

"LG SIGNATURE brings design, performance and experience together in tune, redefining the future of luxury in the home and setting a new standard for premium appliances," said Baek Seung-tae, president of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company.

The expanded Signature lineup marks the brand's 10th anniversary, and LG is clearly betting that AI is the next frontier for premium home appliances.

There's no word yet on Australian availability or pricing of the new models, but I'll update this post if anything changes.
