A 27-inch TV may not seem like a lot, particularly in a world where 75-inch TVs look great in my living room.

But LG's StanbyME 2 isn't like regular TVs. Like the original StanbyME, this smart display comes with a built-in battery and a multi-function rolling stand, so you can move it easily around your home or office to watch (or play) anywhere.

Compared to the previous generation, there are a couple of key improvements, including a boosted QHD (2560x1440) resolution. The screen itself is detachable this time around as well, and can be used on a tabletop with a folio cover or wall-mounted with the proper wall mount.

If you just want the portability, the StanbyME 2's rolling stand lets you tilt, rotate and swivel, with the built-in battery offering up to four hours of viewing without a power cable.

There are a bunch of other specs worth noting, including:

  • Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision support
  • Apple AirPlay and Google Cast support
  • USB-C port for charging
  • Five years of software updates
  • Touchscreen control
  • Downloadable games, including Chess, Memory and Billion Marble
  • WebOS operating system

LG says the StanbyME will hit retailers later this month for an RRP of $2,199.
