One of the most interesting considerations facing anyone looking at home security products today is "where will my data be stored?"
Brands like Ring do a fantastic job, but everything is uploaded to the cloud, and you need to pay an ongoing subscription in order to store clips from multiple cameras. On the other hand, brands like Reolink are leaning into locally stored footage.
Reolink's latest camera is a behemoth of a spotlight camera.
The TrackFlex Floodlight WiFi is a hardwired 4K PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom) floodlight camera that's just launched in Australia.
The camera's already picked up some serious recognition overseas, winning 19 "Best of IFA 2025" awards including honours. It was also named an IFA Innovation Awards Honoree after its debut at IFA Berlin 2025.
Two lenses, one screen
The key selling point is the dual-lens design, similar to the Eufy S340 Solocam I reviewed a couple of years back. TrackFlex uses a 4K wide-angle lens alongside a 6x hybrid zoom lens to provide 360-degree horizontal coverage.
Both views display simultaneously on your phone through the Reolink app, so you can see the full scene while also tracking specific subjects in detail.
Unlike traditional single-lens cameras that lose focus when zooming or panning, the dual-lens system switches between focal lengths automatically.
This means you get sharp detail whether someone's right at your front door or moving across the far end of your driveway.
Local AI video search
The TrackFlex runs on Reolink's ReoNeura AI system, which processes everything on-device. You can search through your footage using text descriptions like "person in red jacket" or "delivery van," and the system will pull up relevant clips without you having to scrub through hours of recordings.
The AI can identify people, vehicles, animals, and packages. Because it all happens locally on the camera, your footage stays private and there are no additional costs.
3000 lumens and out-of-view detection
The floodlight delivers up to 3000 lumens with adjustable colour temperature. You can choose between 6500K cool light or 3000K warm light. There's also a 110-decibel siren to deter intruders.
One clever addition is the 270-degree Out-of-View Detection. Three built-in Passive Infrared (PIR) sensors monitor a wide zone around the camera, detecting motion between 2 and 10 metres away.
If something happens outside the camera's current view, it'll alert you and swivel to capture it, so your home security system doesn't have any glaring black spots.
Pricing and availability
The Reolink TrackFlex Floodlight WiFi is available now for $399.99. You can pick it up at Reolink.com and Amazon, and there's no subscription required to use it, though you will need an electrician to install it.
