Roborock's Saros 10 boasts a retractable navigation unit and a detachable mop
At just 7.98 cm high with its head down, the Saros 10 from Roborock promises to get in to clean under all kinds of furniture.

Keeping the house clean is a never-ending battle.
I’ve tested plenty of robot vacuums over the years, and while they’ve come a long way from those early days of blindly bouncing off furniture, there’s still room for improvement.
The new Roborock Saros 10 looks like it might solve some of my issues. The brand’s latest flagship robotic vacuum cleaner is packed with features designed to make home cleaning even more effortless, though we'll have to wait to see how well it performs.
A slimmer, smarter cleaning machine
At just 7.98cm high, the Saros 10 is the thinnest Roborock vacuum yet, promising to glide under more furniture without getting stuck.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to dig out a trapped robot vacuum from under the kids beds – so the prospect of one that can actually navigate those tricky spots without a problem is a big win.
But it’s not just about size. The Saros 10 introduces Roborock’s first-ever retractable navigation system, which the company has dubbed "RetractSense".
This lets the vacuum lower its LiDAR sensor when moving under low-clearance furniture and raise it back up afterward, preventing it from getting wedged in awkward places.
Combined with a 100-degree Wide-Angle Vision Module, this thing promises to map out a room, avoid obstacles and cleaning more efficiently than ever.

Smarter navigation and better obstacle avoidance
We’ve all seen robot vacuums struggle with cables, socks, and rogue LEGO pieces, but the Saros 10’s Reactive AI 3.0 system aims to fix that.
It combines multiple sensors, including an RGB camera and VertiBeam lateral structured light, to detect and avoid obstacles in real-time.
In the past, some of the best obstacle avoidance I've seen works by giving the object a really wide berth, so it will be interesting to see if that's the case here too.
Avoiding tangled hair
One of the biggest challenges with robot vacuums has been long hair. The Dreame L20 Ultra had its main brush destroyed in a week because of a few strands of human hair.
The Saros 10 tackles this with its new Dual Anti-Tangle System, featuring a DuoDivide Main Brush and FlexiArm Riser Side Brush. Roborock claims a 100% hair removal rate on carpets with 0% tangling. I'm not confident in that stat just yet, but I hope it's true.
It’s also packing some serious suction power, boasting a massive 22,000 Pa to lift dirt and debris from all types of flooring. And if your place has thick carpets or uneven flooring, the vacuum adjusts its height by up to 10 mm to ensure a seamless clean.
Smarter mopping and a self-cleaning dock
These days getting a robot vacuum without a mopping function is nearly impossible. The Saros 10 is no exception, featuring the VibraRise 4.0 mopping technology.
This means the mop itself is more absorbent than before, delivering better stain removal with dual vibrating zones and 8N of pressure. Plus, it automatically lifts when transitioning to carpets, so you don’t have to worry about soggy rugs.
I'm not sure it will compare with my early experiences with the Ecovacs X8 Pro Omni's roller mop though.
The RockDock Ultra 2.0 features 80°C hot water mop washing, 60°C dynamic mop cleaning (to kill bacteria), and an adaptive fast-charging system that juices up the vacuum in just 150 minutes.
