Alongside its unveiling of the new foldable Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 smartphones and the updated Galaxy Watch 6 this week, Samsung also found time to announce the new Galaxy Tab S9.
The new tablet is available in three different versions, all powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor found in high-end Galaxy smartphones.
The new S9 models are the first Galaxy tablets with an IP68 rating. This also extends to the in-box S-Pen stylus, meaning both the tablet and stylus can get a little dusty or a little wet without any issues.
Screen and sound
The new tablets all boast a 16:10 Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, in screen sizes starting at 11 inches for the Tab S9, 12.4 inches for the S9+ and 14.6 inches for the Tab S9 Ultra.
The screen technology all offer a dynamic refresh rate, ensuring that your videos are smooth and balanced. It also helps make sure that battery life is optimised.
For movies and entertainment lovers, HDR10+ support pushes the range of brightness and colours so you get a cinema-like experience.
On the audio front, the Tab S9 offers quad speakers that are 20% larger than the Tab S8, offering Dolby Atmos support.
Pricing and availability
The Galaxy Tab S9 series is available for pre-order now, and will hit store shelves on August 18. The tablets are available in both graphite and beige.
Anyone who pre-orders one of the new tablets will also receive a free storage upgrade and a Book Cover Keyboard Slim via redemption. The pre-order offer is available from all major retailer, online and telco partners and is valued up to $849.
