The OPPO Reno13 5G is shiny

It's early days, but the Reno13's shiny style is nice for the price.

Holding the Oppo Reno 13 in my hand

I've sadly been sitting on this unboxing for a week or so – with school holidays I just couldn't find a window of time long enough to film an unboxing in peace.

OPPO has been making nice hardware for a number of years, and the Reno13 continues the trend. I like the shiny, shimmery back, and the fact this is IP69 rated is a solid inclusion for the price.

I've only had it out of the box for a day or so now, and my initial impressions are similar to previous OPPO unboxing experiences. The hardware is good, but why is there so much crap pre-installed?

Even without migrating content from an older Android device, the front page is loaded up with such "impressive" experiences like "Bubble Pop", "Yatzy" and "June's Journey".

I'm also not big on having Facebook, Temu or TikTok pre-installed.

You can uninstall the apps, but I hate that I have to. Let me curate the apps I want, OPPO, don't force your cruddy partnerships down my throat.

It goes without saying the new MacBook Air is a fantastic laptop. But does the Sky Blue colour hold up?
Unboxing the DJI Flip personal drone | BTTR
The DJI Flip is a really well designed for portability, while offering a strong performance boost over the DJI Neo. I’m keen to play with this one.
Unboxing the Ninja Slushi: It’s a beast | BTTR
I unboxed the Ninja Slushi over the weekend and enjoyed some sweet, frozen soft drinks. But storing the appliance between uses may be a problem.
