The S7 Stretch excels at everyday spills and reaching under furniture with its impressive lay-flat design. However, it struggles with sticky residues and dried-on messes without steam, and the iLoop sensor feels more gimmicky than genuinely useful for most cleaning tasks.
- 180° lay-flat design reaches under low furniture (13cm clearance)
- FlashDry self-cleaning with 85°C hot air prevents odours
- 50-minute runtime handles whole-house cleans
- Anti-tangle brush design works well
- Struggles with sticky residues and dried-on messes
- Dirty water tank is still gross to empty
- iLoop sensor doesn't add much practical value

The virtual ink was barely dry on my review of the flagship Floor One S9 Artist Pro from wet/dry floor cleaning company Tineco when it decided to announce updated versions of the S7 series.
It’s been a few years since I reviewed the Floor One S7 Pro, though, and the technology has progressed quickly, so I was eager to see what Tineco had managed to bring to the S7 Stretch.
With 21 kPa of suction power, dual-sided edge cleaning and a 180-degree lay flat design, the S7 Stretch ticks a lot of the same boxes as the S9 Artist Pro, but with a less refined design and a lower price tag.
At $999 RRP, it’s still not cheap for a device that only cleans hard floors, but if you’re looking for a combo mop cleaner, the S7 Stretch is a really solid offering.
@bttr_reviews Finally, another unboxing! This time around, I’m taking the Tineco Floor One S7 Stretch for a spin! First impressions? I love that it lays flat so I can clean under the furniture. Second impressions? Easy-peasy Third impressions? You’ll have to wait for the full review on BTTR.reviews. 😁

What makes the Floor One S7 Stretch stand out?
It’s not so much what makes the S7 Stretch “stand out” as it is what makes the floor cleaner “lie down”.
Tineco has engineered the S7 Stretch to continue cleaning when laying flat. What’s more, it has designed the cleaning head to sit just 13 cm high, which means it can get under a lot of low-lying furniture to let you vacuum and mop at the same time.
It obviously depends on your furniture, but I could use it to clean under two cabinets that previous models haven’t been able to get underneath.
Beyond its lay-flat design, Tineco has packed the S7 Stretch with impressive suction power of 21,000 Pa and a double-sided edge cleaning design, helping you clean floors thoroughly.
Like previous generations, this model will self-clean with the press of a button when you dock it, but for this model the FlashDry temperature has been pushed up to 85 degrees.

Design and build quality
I’ve reviewed six other wet/dry floor cleaners from Tineco here at BTTR, and outside the flagship S9 Artist series, the aesthetic is consistent. The Floor One is not a device you want to show off in your family room, but it doesn’t look bad in a laundry.
Perhaps more importantly, though, is the build quality. The S7 Stretch – like all the Tineco cleaners I’ve tested – feels solid and robust.
Tineco has shifted the clean water tank on this model to the base of the cleaner, which helps better balance the weight of the cleaner. The head unit can now swivel up to 45 degrees, making it easier to control, particularly when lying flat.
Of course, the “laying flat” part of the design here is the most important element. Each of my early Tineco floor cleaner reviews laments the fact that I couldn’t use it to vacuum and mop underneath my bed.
While this isn’t Tineco’s first wet/dry vacuum to offer the horizontal clean, it’s still the most critical aspect of why you would pick this model.
With the fresh water tank in the base of the cleaner, Tineco has been able to adjust the dirty water tank a bit, too, and it’s a bit easier to clean now. It’s still disgusting, don’t get me wrong. But it does a better job of separating solid and dirty liquid, so you can empty it a bit easier.
Tineco has upgraded the brush roller with a DualBlock anti tangle technology to help minimise long hair getting wrapped around the roller. I didn’t notice any hair tangled on the S7 Stretch during the review, so it seems like it works pretty well.

Cleaning performance
I didn’t notice any real difference in the quality of cleaning with the S7 Stretch compared to the last few Tineco cleaners I tested. That’s a testament to how well these things work, I think, more than anything else.
Tineco’s technology is designed to apply clean water to the roller as it cleans and scrape off the dirty water as it’s collected, and that approach works really well for regular maintenance cleaning.
If your floor has dried, sticky messes, the general cleaning performance isn’t quite enough to get the job done. The steam version of the appliance may do a better job here, but only if you can use it on your floors.
Where the S7 Stretch stands apart is the ability to get underneath lower furniture. Even better is the easy swivel of the cleaning head, which gives you the control you need when you’re holding the cleaner flat to clean under your bed.
There are three cleaning mode options: Auto, Max and suction only. To be completely honest with you, it’s unlikely you require anything apart from the Auto mode, which does a fantastic job.
Like other Tineco models, the S7 Stretch has the iLoop display to indicate just how soiled the floor is as you clean. I’m not convinced this is overly accurate, as I’ve seen it remain blue on dirty sections of my floor, or turn red on areas I’ve cleaned repeatedly.
But it doesn’t impact the quality of the clean, so it’s easily ignored.
Once you pop the S7 Stretch on the dock, there’s a one-touch button to clean the roller. The FlashDry system has had a bit of an upgrade over the S7 Pro, and uses hotter air at 85 ºC to dry it more quickly.
Tineco says it helps better manage odours, and in the month or so I’ve been using the vacuum I haven’t noticed any unpleasant smells… Other than when I empty the dirty water tank, that is. Like every other wet/dry floor cleaner, emptying the dirty water tank is disgusting. You need to prepare yourself mentally for just how gross it can be.
And never, under any circumstances, forget to empty the dirty water tank after using the cleaner. It will audibly remind you when you power off, which is good because leaving the dirty water to fester is an offence to the senses.

Power and battery
Tineco updated the battery in this model, which means that the battery life is pretty robust.
Tineco claims up to 50 minutes of cleaning time from a single charge, which is up 10 minutes from the quoted battery life of the S7 Pro.
In real-world terms, I could comfortably clean the hard floors running through my everywhere except the two carpeted bedrooms in my three-bedroom house.
Combined with the extra suction power of 21,000 Pa in the Stretch, there are no concerns over power or battery performance here.
Verdict
While I think I preferred the S9 Artist Pro overall thanks to its more refined design, I’d argue the S7 Stretch is better value for money. I ultimately couldn’t really point out any major difference in performance, and the S7 Stretch is $300 cheaper.
It cleans well, has enough battery life to easily clean many Australian homes, and can lay flat to get underneath low-lying furniture.
The roller head does a good job of avoiding tangles, the FlashDry system makes cleaning the roller head easy and eliminates odours, and the water tank’s position makes moving it around easier.
The only real drawback is the fact you need to empty the dirty tank, but that’s true of all wet/dry vacuums. And of course, if you have plenty of carpeted rooms, this appliance won’t help you clean them.
Overall, though, this is a winning appliance.
Buy the Tineco Floor One S7 Stretch if you:
- Want a combo floor cleaner that can get under furniture
- Don’t want to manually clean your mop head
- Would prefer not to pay over $1,000 on a wet/dry vacuum
Skip the Tineco Floor One S7 Stretch if you:
- Have a home that’s mostly carpeted
- Can’t handle the stench of the dirty water tank
- Regularly have to deal with sticky, dried on mess

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the Tineco Floor One S7 Stretch battery last?
The S7 Stretch offers up to 50 minutes of runtime on a single charge in Auto mode. The upgraded pouch cell battery provides extended lifespan compared to standard batteries, though actual runtime may vary depending on the cleaning mode used and the surface being cleaned. The battery is built-in and cannot be detached or replaced.
Can the S7 Stretch really fit under furniture?
Yes, the S7 Stretch features a unique 180° lay-flat design with HyperStretch Technology that allows it to compress to just 13 cm in height. This enables you to clean under beds, sofas, and other low-clearance furniture effortlessly. The exclusive 3-chamber dirty water separation system keeps dirty water away from the motor even when lying completely flat, maintaining full cleaning power.
Does the Tineco Floor One S7 Stretch handle pet hair well?
Absolutely. The S7 Stretch features a DualBlock Anti-tangle Design with a front hair comb that prevents tangles from the start. The dual-layer scraper system captures pet hair with a comb scraper and wipes away dirty water and hair with a straight scraper, making it an excellent choice for pet owners who struggle with hair buildup on traditional vacuums.
How does the self-cleaning system work on the S7 Stretch?
The FlashDry Self-Cleaning System uses 85 °C hot air to thoroughly clean and dry the brush roller in just 5 minutes. The system performs bidirectional brush rotation during self-cleaning, ensuring a cleaner and fluffier brush while minimising odours and preventing mould and bacteria growth. This hands-free cleaning process makes maintenance simple and hygienic.
What surfaces can the Tineco Floor One S7 Stretch clean?
The S7 Stretch is designed for all hard floor surfaces, including tiles, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and sealed floors. It vacuums and mops simultaneously, handling both wet and dry debris in one pass. The three cleaning modes (Auto, Max, and Suction) allow you to tackle everything from everyday dust to heavy spills across various hard floor types. It's not recommended for use on carpets or rugs.
