Unboxing Apple’s awe-dropping product haul

Nick Broughall

Apple‘s September product launch was a big one. The company unveiled its collection of mobility products, including the slim new iPhone Air, before the products all hit shelves a week later.

Apple has sent me the full suite of products to review, and while I haven’t had anywhere near enough time to pull together a comprehensive review, I have managed to unbox everything.

And so, here are all the new Apple products unboxed for you in one convenient location. Let me know what you want me to review first!

iPhone Air

@bttr_reviews

Finally got my hands on the @apple iPhone Air. First impressions: it’s definitely thin! This design is peak Apple. I still don’t know if I’m convinced a few millimetres of thickness is worth sacrificing the iPhone 17’s second camera for, but keen to try it out to see how it performs!

♬ Lighter Than Air - Atomica Music

First impressions: It's definitely thin! But thin is such a relative description: while this is really thin for an iPhone, it's still thicker than an unfolded Galaxy Z Fold7. Now that was a thin phone.

I haven't tested it enough to be able to say for certain, but I feel like the fact it's more expensive than the regular iPhone 17, plus the sacrifices that were made to the camera and battery mean I would go for the iPhone 17... But a bit of time with the phone may change my mind. Stay tuned

iPhone 17

@bttr_reviews

I have my hands on the iPhone 17! It’s remarkably similar to the iPhone 16 - fractionally taller, maybe - though I have to say the white colour feels dull next to last year’s stunning pink model. Testing is now underway for the upcoming review! Keen to see how it compares to the Air and the 17 Pro this year!

♬ Meridian - ODESZA

First impressions: This feels very similar to the iPhone 16, except the white unit I got to review feels dull and muted next to last year's vibrant pink colour.

I think the Center stage camera will make a big difference here, and the display looks a bit nicer as well. Will see how it performs.

iPhone 17 Pro

@bttr_reviews

I wasn’t sure I’d be into the orange colour on Apple’s new iPhone 17 Pro, but I really like it. Not as much as I like the pink iPhone 16, but this is still really nice. I’ve had a couple of days with this phone now, and I’m digging the new camera array with up to 8x zoom, and the Center Stage camera, though that does take a bit of getting used to. Full review to come!

I'm shifting from the iPhone 16 Pro Max to the iPhone 17 Pro, and the smaller frame is much more comfortable in the hands.

But I really like the camera improvements here. The 8x zoom is a lot of fun, particularly for capturing wildlife and the Center Stage camera on front is great for selfies.

I wasn't sure I'd like the orange colour, but I actually really do!

AirPods Pro 3

@bttr_reviews

Got my hands on the new AirPods Pro 3 from Apple, so let’s take them out of the box! These are a big step up from the last generation, with built in heart rate monitoring and massive improvements to the noise cancellation. Testing is now underway - what do you think I should listen to so I can properly test these out?

♬ Despacito - Arturo Jimenes

The fit on these is great. I have a lot of trouble with earbud fit in my right ear, but these feel secure.

Sound is really good, and the noise cancelling is great for in-ear. Given my last review headphones were the Sony WH-1000 XM6, I can't say the noise cancelling comes anywhere near the Sony's level of blocking external sounds, but it's still impressive.

I haven't tested the Live translation or the heart rate monitor features yet. Stay tuned.

Apple Watch Series 11

@bttr_reviews

The @apple Watch Series 11 is here, so let’s unbox it. It’s a minor upgrade over last year’s Series 10, with a more scratch resistant screen, longer battery and some new health features in WatchOS like the sleep score. Review to come, so follow for more!

♬ Fighter (Instrumental) - ROKKA

This is probably the most underwhelming product of the lot. There are some minor improvements to battery life over last year's Series 10, but I haven't noticed it yet.

I haven't spent enough time with it to be 100% certain, but my initial feeling is that it might be better to pick up a Series 10 on the cheap if you can. I'll see what more testing does to that opinion, though.

Apple Watch Ultra 3

@bttr_reviews

The Ultra Watch 3 brings an improved (and larger) display to the Ultra lineup. I took it out of its box and for a nice walk around Sydney Harbour today and while I’m not sure it would be worth an upgrade for Ultra 2 owners, there’s a lot I like moving from the Apple Watch Series 10. Full review to come over on BTTR.reviews

This is my first Apple Watch Ultra review, and I like it. I took it for a nice hike from Taronga to Balmoral Beach along Sydney Harbour, and it was comfortable, and accurate, and after a full day out still had 70% battery left.

But it's too big to be comfortable to wear while sleeping. Which means you probably want a smaller Apple Watch alongside the Ultra to over the less adventurous situations in your life.
