The Ankarsrum stand mixer is probably more appliance than I can handle
The cult Assistent Original Swedish stand mixer from Ankarsrum has arrived in Australia in 16 different colours and with a powerful 1500W motor.
I'm going to be honest - I'd never heard of Swedish brand Ankarsrum before the press release for the Assistent Original stand mixer's Australian arrival landed in my inbox. But the premium kitchen appliance looks like it punches well above its weight.
It's probably more appliance than I can manage, if I'm honest. I'm a simple cook with simple needs. But with a powerful 1500W motor combined with 80 years of innovation, this premium appliance could make a big statement in any modern Aussie kitchen.
The entire motor unit is housed in the mixer's base, and has just five moving parts inside. This allows for the powerful 1500W motor to be both quiet and incredibly stable.
The stainless steel bowl is a whopping 7 litres, which is capable of kneading up to 5kg of bread dough at a time. That, my friends, is enough for 150 bread rolls at a time, or eight loaves of bread.

If you want to do more than just knead dough, there's a range of attachments sold separately, for tasks like making pasta, churning ice cream, mincing meat and milling grain.
Each unit is hand-assembled in Sweden using 100% recycled Swedish aluminium, and is rigorously tested before leaving the factory. Ankarsrum offers a seven year manufacturer's warranty on the Assistent Original.
