While I tend to review a lot more of the premium robot vacuum cleaners these days, my first robot vacuum was the cheap ECOVACS N8, which I picked up for a couple hundred dollars during a Black Friday sale.
It changed my life. I don't say that lightly either. If you're looking to try out a robot vacuum in your home and don't have the budget for a $2,000 flagship, then ECOVACS has a really solid option for you this weekend.
High-end power for a middle-aisle price
The DEEBOT NEO 2.0 is returning to ALDI Special Buys on March 7th for just $279. While its standard retail price usually sits around $699, this promotion brings it well into the "impulse buy" territory for anyone tired of pushing a manual vacuum around.
Despite the low entry fee, the specs are surprisingly punchy. ECOVACS has packed in 5,000 Pa of suction power, making it more than capable of lifting pet hair and stubborn dust from carpet crevices.
Smart mapping and mopping
The NEO 2.0 uses LDS laser navigation to scan your home and create a digital map in real-time. This means it knows exactly where it has been and where it needs to go, rather than wandering aimlessly around your furniture.
It features both a dustbin and a water tank to vacuum and mop in a single pass. For those with a mix of flooring, the built-in ultrasonic sensors tell the robot to avoid carpets while the mop is attached so you donβt end up with a damp rug.
Built for the busy Australian household
With many Australians feeling the "time squeeze" due to work and family commitments, the focus here is on reducing the mental load of housework. The robot can be scheduled via the ECOVACS Home App or triggered by voice via Google Home or Amazon Alexa.
βECOVACS is all about making everyday life a little easier, and the DEEBOT NEO 2.0 is the perfect entry into the world of hands-free cleaning,β said Karen Powell, Regional Director for ECOVACS Australia and New Zealand.
The battery life is also a standout, offering up to 180 minutes of runtime. If it does run low before finishing a large house, it is smart enough to return to its dock, recharge, and then resume exactly where it left off.
