LG has gone big with its lineup of TVs for 2026. Not just in terms of screen size – though that's there too. But also in the sheer scope of the range.

In addition to the OLED updates we love to see every year, the company is also bringing its Micro RGB range to Australia this year, as well as its updated Wallpaper models.

This week I got the chance to go eyes-on with LG's 2026 home entertainment range, which focuses on what LG calls "Affectionate Intelligence." This philosophy uses the new Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen3 to better understand and adapt to how you actually watch TV, rather than just pushing raw specs.

LG's wallpaper tv at the Sydney launch event

While there was a lot of lovely-looking TVs at the launch event, the standout is undoubtedly the iconic OLED evo W6 Wallpaper TV, which was unveiled back at CES in January.

At a razor-thin 9.9mm, it uses wireless technology to receive visually lossless 4K video and audio from a separate Zero Connect Box.

This means you only need a power cable for the screen itself, giving you much more freedom to mount it like a piece of art without messy cables.

For those seeking the absolute peak of colour reproduction in their TV tech, LG is debuting the Micro RGB (MRGB) evo line of TVs.

Unlike standard LCDs, this technology controls each tiny RGB LED backlight individually for professional-grade colour accuracy. Meanwhile, the QNED evo range now stretches up to a massive 115 inches, designed for bright Australian living rooms where OLED might struggle with glare.

Gamers are also getting a boost this year. Select OLED models now support a 165Hz refresh rate at 4K resolution, providing smoother motion for those with high-end PCs or the latest consoles.

Simplified surround sound with Dolby FlexConnect

On the audio side, the new Dolby Atmos FlexConnect allows you to place wireless speakers anywhere in a room while the TV automatically tunes the sound to your specific layout.

Tony Brown, General Manager of Media Entertainment at LG Electronics ANZ, noted that the range is designed to simplify a fragmented media landscape.

"Our 2026 TV lineup is engineered to help our customers easily manage this complex content landscape and get the best experience, no matter what they're watching or playing," Brown said.

The updated webOS 26 platform powers these sets, featuring an AI Hub that uses Google Gemini and MS Copilot to answer complex search queries.LG is also continuing its webOS Re:New program, promising five years of software upgrades to ensure your smart TV doesn't feel outdated a year after purchase.
