For years now, Motorolas flagship has been its RAZR family of phones with their foldable screens and gorgeous designs. But the RAZR phones haven't been flagship-specced. They couldn't compete with the Galaxy S26 Ultra or the iPhone 17 Pro in terms of power or performance.

But this year, the company is focused on growth, and part of that is an exciting new lineup of products, headed by the new Signature flagship phone.

The new flagship standard

The Motorola Signature marks a pivot for the brand, moving toward a device that can trade blows with the best from Samsung and Apple.

Under the hood, it runs the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, which is geared toward high-speed AI tasks and general efficiency.

Photography is clearly the priority here, with Motorola securing a DXOMARK Gold Label for the camera system. It uses the Sony LYTIA 828 sensor and supports Dolby Vision capture, meaning your home videos should look much closer to professional cinematic quality.

Praveena Raman, Head of Motorola ANZ, said, “This represents the very best of Motorola innovation, combining cutting-edge imaging technology, powerful AI capabilities and premium craftsmanship to deliver an elevated smartphone experience.”

Thinner designs and bigger batteries

While the Signature handles the heavy lifting, the Motorola edge 70 focuses on aesthetics without the performance penalties.

It measures just 5.99mm thick, which is remarkably slim for a device that still manages to house a 4800mAh silicon-carbon battery.

For those who want more endurance, the Motorola edge 70 fusion steps in with a massive 7000mAh battery.

This is paired with a Sony LYTIA 710 sensor, making it a strong contender for users who prioritise battery life and social media content creation above all else.

A growing ecosystem

Motorola is also fleshing out its accessory range to compete with the broader ecosystems of its rivals.

The new moto watch is particularly interesting as it is powered by Polar, bringing a high level of fitness tracking expertise to a sleek 47mm stainless steel frame.

We also see the introduction of the moto pen ultra, which turns the Signature into a productivity tool for sketching and note-taking.

To round out the audio side, there are three new sets of buds, including the high-end moto buds loop which features Swarovski crystals for those who want their tech to double as jewellery.
