Just over a week after it announced its latest Reno smartphone, the Reno15 family, OPPO is back in my inbox with a new tablet and smartwatch. Both models offer more affordable access to the latest technology.
Let's take a closer look at the new products:
OPPO Pad 5: Built for the long haul
The OPPO Pad 5 is a 12.1-inch tablet aimed squarely at students and remote workers who spend hours staring at a screen.
It features a 2.8K "Eye-Comfort" display which has earned a TÜV Rheinland certification, which means it's designed to flicker less and emit lower levels of harsh blue light. This reduces the digital eye strain that usually kicks in during a long study session or Netflix binge.
Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a massive 10,050mAh battery. OPPO claims this will get you through roughly 15 hours of video playback, which is more than enough for a flight from Sydney to Perth and back again.
It also carries a 48-month "fluency" rating, suggesting the device should remain snappy and lag-free for at least four years of daily use.
AI-powered productivity
OPPO is leaning heavily into AI for its local tablet debut. The Pad 5 includes a "Circle to Note" feature, allowing you to circle text or images on one side of a split screen and instantly drop them into a note on the other.
For those in meetings or lectures, the AI Recording Summary can transcribe different voices and condense an hour-long chat into a few bullet points. If you are a student, the Handwriting Formula Calculation can even recognise and solve maths equations as you write them with the optional OPPO Pencil 2R.

OPPO Watch S: Slim design, serious health
On the wearable front, the OPPO Watch S prioritises a "disappearing" feel on the wrist.
At just 8.9mm thick and weighing 35g, it is significantly leaner than many bulky rugged smartwatches.
Despite the slim profile, it houses a bright 3000-nit display, which ensures you can actually read your heart rate or pace while running under the harsh Australian sun.
“The series is designed to fit naturally into everyday use,” said Michael Tran, Managing Director at OPPO Australia. “From a more compact Pro design to creator-first camera features, long-lasting battery life and fast charging.”
The watch is packed with flagship-level sensors, including an 8-channel heart rate monitor and a 16-channel blood oxygen sensor.
A "60s Wellness Overview" allows you to take a quick one-minute snapshot of your ECG, stress levels, and heart health with a single tap.
