OPPO mostly built its brand on the lower end of the smartphone market in Australia, but it also plays in the premium space. The problem is that for Australians, not every flagship model makes it to our shores.

But the company has announced that the new Find X9 models will both arrive in Australia from 6 November, following the successful launch of the Find X8 Pro last year.

The headlining feature of the Find X9 is the camera system. The Find X9 Pro includes a 200MP Hasselblad Telephoto with a 1/1.56-inch sensor and an f/2.1 aperture lens. The minimum focus distance is 10cm, which should be handy for macro shots. OPPO's developed what they call Active Optical Alignment to match the lens with the sensor, which they say boosts resolution by an additional 15%.

The standard Find X9 has a triple 50MP camera setup with a Sony LYT-808 main sensor, an ultra-wide with autofocus for macro photography, and a periscope telephoto. The Pro gets an upgraded main camera with a customised Sony LYT 828 sensor that uses Real-Time Triple Exposure technology to handle shadows and highlights.

Both phones support 4K 120fps Dolby Vision HDR video recording, with the Pro extending that to its 200MP telephoto. There's also LOG recording with ACES certification if you're doing professional video work.

OPPO is also selling a Hasselblad Teleconverter accessory for the Find X9 Pro that adds 10x optical zoom capability, with up to 200x digital zoom for photos and 50x for video. It's $699 and only available through OPPO's online store.

Outside the cameras, the battery capacity also stands out: 7025mAh in the Find X9 and 7500mAh in the Pro. That's well above the typical 5000mAh you see in most flagships. There's 80W wired charging, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging. OPPO is using third-generation silicon-carbon battery technology, which they claim will retain over 80% capacity after five years of use.

Both phones run on MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 chipset and come with ColorOS 16, including features like AI Mind Space, AI Recorder, and O+ Connect for cross-device connectivity.

The design features flat edges with 1.15mm symmetrical bezels. The Find X9 has a 6.59-inch display while the Pro has a 6.78-inch screen. Both have 120Hz refresh rates and up to 3600 nits peak brightness. They're rated IP66, IP68 and IP69 for dust and water resistance.

Pricing and availability

  • OPPO Find X9 Pro (16GB + 512GB): $2,299 in Silk White or Titanium Charcoal
  • OPPO Find X9 (12GB + 512GB): $1,799 in Titanium Grey or Space Black
  • OPPO Hasselblad Teleconverter Kit: $699 in Black (online exclusive)

They'll be available from JB Hi-Fi and OPPO's online store from 6 November. The Pro sits below the 512GB Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra's $2,349 RRP, while the standard Find X9 is the same price as the 512GB iPhone 17.

It'll be interesting to see how that 200MP camera performs in practice. We'll hopefully get review units to test properly.
