OPPO's new Reno13 series launching late March, packed with AI
OPPO doesn't want people to consider its new Reno13 series "mid-range", promising flagship performance at a more friendly price point.

OPPO has unveiled its Reno13 series, comprising the Reno13 Pro 5G, Reno13 5G, and Reno13 F 5G, with an Australian launch scheduled for March 27th.
Building on last year's Reno12 5G, the company is positioning the series as offering advanced features typically found in premium smartphones within a more accessible price range.
The Reno13 Pro 5G and Reno13 5G feature a design incorporating a one-piece sculpted glass back and an aerospace-grade Aluminium Frame.
Both models offer a 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The design choices suggest OPPO is moving towards a more premium feel than the shimmery plastic of last year, though the actual in-hand experience remains to be seen.
Durability is a key focus, with all three models featuring IP69 water and dust resistance, which OPPO claims enables underwater photo and video recording. There's even a dedicated "Underwater Mode" and a one-tap drainage mechanism are included.
I'm still going to say I'd be cautious to actually take the phone underwater. IP69 in a phone is a nice inclusion, but electronics and water aren't designed to mix. I'd have a careful read of the warranty info before swimming with the phone.
For photographers, the Reno13 Pro 5G features a 50MP ultra-clear main camera, a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP selfie camera.
The Reno13 Pro 5G and Reno13 5G support 4K ultra clear video recording on both front and rear cameras.
AI-powered photography features include AI Livephoto, AI Motion, AI Clarity Enhancer, AI Unblur, and AI Reflection Remover. Whether any of these are useful for you is not something I can comment on.
The Reno13 series also introduces a feature called Tap-to-Share, which enables direct sharing of Livephotos with iOS devices via NFC.
Performance is driven by a custom MediaTek Dimensity 8350 mobile platform in the Reno13 Pro 5G and Reno13 5G.
Battery capacities are 5,800mAh for the Reno13 Pro 5G and Reno13 F 5G, and 5,600mAh for the Reno13 5G.
The Reno13 Pro 5G and Reno13 5G support 80W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge, while the Reno13 F 5G supports 45W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge.
“This is the Reno Series like you’ve never seen it before. With the technology inside, there’s absolutely nothing ‘mid’ about these smartphones. We’re packing 5,800mAh and 5,600mAh batteries, up to 80W flash charging, an IP69 rating, advanced camera systems, and an entire suite of AI features. Starting from $599, this isn’t just a new era for the Reno Series; it’s a new standard for the mid-range category.”
