It's been a massive week of tech news, with CES 2026 in Las Vegas showcasing all the latest product announcements from a huge roster of companies.
Despite not being on the show floor, my inbox was flooded with announcements from companies big and small with their big product news for the year.
I didn't get close to covering all the actual news from the event, but that doesn't mean I didn't try! In this week's Roundup, I'll share all the CES coverage I did manage to write up over the past week.
What was your favourite news story from CES? Let me know about it in the comments below!
Being the first roundup of the year, it would be remiss of me not to share the pick of my favourite products of 2025. Make sure you check it out and tell me what your favourite gadget of last year was.

And remember, BTTR is reader-funded, so consider a paid subscription or throwing a few bucks in the Tip Jar to support my work here.
Until next week

All the CES 2026 news this week
Let's start with big screens
- Samsung's bringing out more MicroRGB screen sizes this year, after last year's 115-inch giant. One of those new models will be a 130-inch behemoth, too, so there are more options if you like your TVs too big for your living room.
- LG is also launching MicroRGB TVs this year, leveraging the brand's OLED experience to make them work better.
- Samsung has an updated version of its Freestyle+ Projector launching, which is brighter than the last version.
- Hisense is adding Cyan LEDs to its high end TVs for more even gradients in its colour reproduction.
- LG is launching a 9mm Wallpaper OLED this year. It's probably going to be ridiculously priced, but it will be equally gorgeous, I'm guessing.
- Hisense has updated its laser projectors, making them brighter and easier to use. Win.
What about audio?
- LG's new home theatre products use Dolby Atmos FlexConnect for effortless setup. Keen to see exactly how effortless that is, though.
- Samsung has some very pretty new speakers. They look gorgeous, and will tap into other Samsung audio gear easily.
- Shokz has somehow added audio isolation to its open ear earphones. I should be testing these out in the near future, so stay tuned for first impressions.
- I don't love Will.I.Am's music, so I can't imagine these will be tuned to my tastes, but LG's latest xboom speakers look pretty decent.
Home appliances get big upgrades
- LG's Signature Fridge is getting conversational AI so you can talk to it about dinner. I don't know why.
- Samsung's Bespoke AI appliances are getting performance improvements. I'm very intrigued by the updated AirDresser.
- Roborock's stair-climbing robot is clearly the best solution to managing multi-story homes, though we don't know when it will see the light of day.
- Ecovacs has pool cleaners, new vacuums and upgraded robot lawnmowers that will trim your edges. Keen.
- Dreame is trying to integrate more completely with your home, but will be bringing its next flagship vacuum to Australia soon.
On the computing front...
- Aussie company espresso Displays has a new budget 15-inch screen coming, and it will be available in a range of colours.
- LG has 5K AI upscaling monitors launching this year.
- Acer upgraded seemingly every laptop in its portfolio.
- Insta360 announced a pair of new high-end webcams.
- Dell tried to undo its silly decision to kill off the XPS brand last year, by bringing it back this year.
- ASUS has a pretty epic update of its range, including a partnership with GoPro, of all companies. Makes more sense to me than the BAPE collab.
- HP has also updated most of its range. But the real interesting part is that it has consolidated its gaming brands under the HyperX umbrella.
And the other stuff...
- The new Withings Body Scan 2 will track over 60 health indicators in a 90 second scan. How much data is too much data, I wonder?
- SmartThings will work with Matter cameras this month. That should make running a smart home a bit easier.
- LG showed off a humanoid robot called CLOiD that does laundry and cooks, apparently. I don't think it will ever happen.
- Reolink has announced a home AI Box that brings AI to your home security network locally, for security and convenience.
- Lego has launched a Smart Brick, which adds interactivity to Lego sets. This is probably the most exciting announcement of the whole show for me, if I'm being honest.
- Belkin has a new Qi2 multi-charger that can charge any brand of smartwatch, because you connect it to the supplied puck you get with your wearable. Plus a bunch of other chargers, of course!
That's it for this week. Thanks for reading!
