PC manufacturers have been trying to add touchscreens to laptops since the launch of the original iPad.

It makes sense. There is a combination of portability and certain functionality benefits to being able to control your computer from the screen.

A report from Maximise Market Research in February 2023 announced it expected the global market for 2-in-1 laptops to grow to US$8.27 billion by 2030, up from US$2.87 billion in 2021.

Today, most manufacturers offer a hybrid 2-in-1 laptop as part of their product lineup. While the scale of the market is great for variety, it can make it harder to find the best 2-in-1 laptop for your needs.
