Why trust us? | How we test

I don't give a lot of presentations, but I have been to enough media launches over the years to know that having a clicker that works can make or break a presentation.

Logitech's new Spotlight 2 Advanced Presenter seems like it may be overkill for most people, but for anyone who gives presentations professionally, it could be the ideal accessory.

At $199.95, the Spotlight 2 is a substantial step up from a standard clicker. The most interesting addition is haptic feedback, used in two ways: the force-sensitive highlight button pulses gently to confirm you've activated it, and a guided breathing exercise uses soft rhythmic pulses to help calm pre-presentation nerves before you step on stage.

Beyond the haptics (Logitech has been leaning into this technology across its product line, including the MX Master 4 mouse), the Spotlight 2 brings a full suite of digital highlighting tools: Spotlight, Squarelight, Magnify, and Annotate, alongside a Digital Pointer and a traditional Class 1 laser.

The Logi Options+ app lets you customise the Action Button to trigger shortcuts including start, mute, and blank screen, effectively turning the device into a personalised control centre for your setup.

Joseph Mingori, VP and General Manager at Logitech, said: "Whether a speaker presents daily or is taking the stage for the first time, nerves are natural. Spotlight 2 is designed to be the steadying anchor in these stressful moments."

On the practical side, a one-minute charge delivers three hours of presentation time, with a full charge lasting up to three months.

It connects via Bluetooth or the included Logi Bolt USB-C receiver, covers a wireless range of up to 30 metres, and works across PowerPoint, Google Slides, and Keynote on macOS and Windows.
