Google's I/O developer conference happening May 14
Google has announced dates for the Google IO developer conference for 2024, and it's happening on May 14 in the USA.
Get ready to nerd out on AI and Android, because Google has confirmed that its next I/O developer conference is going to take place this year on May 14.
The May 14 date is in the US, so it's likely to occur from early morning May 15 for us here in Australia. Fortunately, Google is going to be broadcasting the event online, with content to be provided on demand and in different languages.
If you're a developer, you can register for updates and to set your interests. But if you're just a nerd like me looking to hear the latest updates from Google, details will be made available closer to the event.
What we can assume based on previous I/O events is information on upcoming Android updates and features; a lot of talk about Google's answer to AI, Gemini; and if we're lucky, a first look at Google's Pixel 8A smartphone.
Google did introduce the Pixel 7A at last year's event, so the chances of the 8A making an appearance are pretty good.
