I find Skullcandy's decision to licence tech from Bose for the Method 360 ANC earbuds interesting.
When Bose leant its audio tech to Motorola for the Moto Buds last year, it made sense in that Motorola wasn't an audio brand. It needed Bose's authority to convince customers its earbuds would sound good.
But Skullcandy has been making audio products for over 20 years. Surely the licensing of technology from a bigger audio brand like Bose is an admission that its existing range doesn't offer the level of audio quality you want from an audio brand?
The Method 360 seem to be a solid offering. Packed into a stylish slider case with a built-in O-ring clip, the earbuds promise up to 40 hours of battery life with ANC off and 32 hours with it turned on. 10 minutes on the charger will give two hours of playback as well.
Skullcandy has used Bose's Sound by Bose technology for tuning the audio for better performance, but it also used the brand's ear tip technology. The Method 360 comes with three ear fins and three ear gels to help create the perfcet fit, helping to passively block out external sound.
The earbuds offer multipoint pairing for simultaneous connection to multiple devices, and support for Google's fast pair technology and Spotify Tap.
The earbuds are IPX4 sweat and water resistant as well.

The Skullcandy Method 360 ANC earbuds are available now in five different colourways: Black, Bone, Primer, Plasma, and Leopard.
RRP is $189.99, and you can pick them up from Skullcandy's online store now, with all colours except Leopard arriving at JB Hi-Fi on 6 May.
