Attention marathon lovers! If you'd been eyeing off the limited edition Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 headphones to line up with the Sydney Marathon, today is the day. The headphones are available on the Shokz website from today.

Shokz has just been named Official Headphone Partner of six 2026 Abbott World Marathon Majors races, and it's celebrating with a co-branded OpenRun Pro 2 for each one, including our own TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS.

The Sydney edition comes in a deep blue and gold colourway, with the marathon route map printed on the box and the carrying case. It's the same excellent OpenRun Pro 2 underneath the paint job, just dressed up as a keepsake for anyone ticking the Sydney Marathon off their list.

Each race gets its own exclusive version, sold only through the local Shokz website and at that race's expo. So if you want the Sydney one, this is your only shopping window, there's no general retail run planned.

The headphones tie into Shokz's new Chasing Stars program, a global runner recruitment initiative launched alongside ambassador Eliud Kipchoge and athletes Andy Buchanan, Hellen Obiri, Conner Mantz and Eilish McColgan. It offers everyday runners a shot at race entry to one of the six majors, with Shokz aiming to encourage more people to take up running and chase their own goals.

The TCS Sydney Marathon has exploded since debuting as the seventh Abbott World Marathon Major last year. In 2025 it became the largest marathon ever run in Australia, with more than 32,000 finishers from 117 countries. This year's ballot pulled in over 123,000 entries, a 56 per cent jump on 2025.

The OpenRun Pro 2 remains one of the better sports headphones around thanks to its bone conduction design, which keeps your ears open to traffic and fellow runners while you listen.

An IP55 rating means the headphones are sealed well enough to handle sweat and rain, but they're not for swimming or showering. Perfect for running a marathon, really.
