Fujifilm announced its revolutionary interchangeable lens projector back in January, and it's just launched in Australia. Ultra short throw, short throw and standard lens options give the ZUH12000 a versatility you wouldn't get from most projectors.
The FUJIFILM Projector ZUH12000 is available in Australia from 6 August 2026, alongside all three of its optional lenses. It's the first model in Fujifilm's Z Series to support interchangeable lenses, which means you're not locked into one installation the moment you unbox it.
The ultra short throw lens is the most interesting lens, with a folded-type rotatable mechanism that traces back to the same rotating lens system Fujifilm put in its X100-series cameras in 2019.
You can spin the lens 360 degrees and shift the image 60% vertically and 30% horizontally without moving the projector itself. You could hide the whole unit in a ceiling recess or behind a wall and leave only the lens poking through, which would be perfect for museum displays or gallery installations or other situations where you don't want a chunky projector body breaking the illusion.
At 12,000 lumens, the ZUH12000 is twice as bright as Fujifilm's own FP-ZUH6000 from last year, and comfortably ahead of rivals like the Hisense XR10.
That extra brightness makes it great for corporate showrooms and commercial spaces with the lights on. It's so powerful you don't need a blacked-out room the way most home projectors do.
This isn't a lounge room projector chasing the same buyers as the Samsung Freestyle Plus. It's aimed more at commercial installers, museums and large venues that need serious brightness and flexibility, and the price tag will reflect that (though we don't know what it is).
It's a shame this isn't a device for your loungeroom, but who knows what the future holds?
