Home speakers tend to be pretty boring to look at. Sure, there are subtle differences between brands and models, but typically you wind up with a rectangular prism that makes sound.
KEF's latest speakers are a bit of an exception. The LS LUXE flagship wireless speakers not only promise high-end audio reproduction, but also a design that will make the rest of your room feel more premium.
That design comes courtesy of Ross Lovegrove, the British industrial designer known for organic, sculptural work, who has now worked with KEF for more than two decades.
The result looks more like a piece from a gallery than something you'd tuck into a media unit, though KEF is adamant it hasn't sacrificed acoustic performance for looks.
Inside each speaker sits KEF's 12th generation Uni-Q driver array paired with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), the brand's noise cancelling tech for internal cabinet resonance.
There's also a new addition called Velocity Control Technology (VECO), which tracks driver movement in real time to keep bass tight and controlled rather than boomy.
LS LUXE is the first KEF product to combine all three technologies in one system.
On the connectivity side, LS LUXE runs on KEF's W2 Wireless Platform and supports hi-res streaming up to 24-bit/384kHz.
It plays nicely with Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, AirPlay and Google Cast, plus native support for TIDAL, Qobuz, Amazon Music and Deezer.
If you'd rather go wired, there's HDMI eARC for TV sound, along with optical, analogue and coaxial inputs for turntables and consoles.
Setup and tuning happen through the KEF Connect app, which handles room optimisation and EQ adjustments so the speakers sound right for your space rather than a showroom.

LS LUXE is available in Australia now, priced from $6,375 through KEF.com and selected authorised KEF retailers.
It comes in three finishes, Eclipse Black, Dusk Titanium and Mineral White, with matching S-LUXE floor stands and other accessories sold separately.
