Why trust us? · How we test
I'm a big haptics fan, particularly when it's done well. Active feedback when you're touching something to indicate a response is both useful and cool.
Logitech obviously agrees, launching an update for the MX Master 4, which gives it native haptic feedback on Windows 11.
To enjoy the haptic feedback, existing owners need to update the MX Master 4 via a firmware update in Logi Options+. You'll also need the latest version of Windows 11 installed. New units shipping from now will support haptics out of the box.
The feedback kicks in during specific moments: aligning objects in PowerPoint, snapping windows, resizing panels. It's a physical response to productivity gains.
Art O'Gnimh, General Manager of Mouse and Keyboard Solutions at Logitech, said the company built the capability into the hardware well before the software was ready for it.
"We integrated advanced haptic hardware into the MX Master 4 ahead of the curve, anticipating a shift toward more immersive operating systems," he said. "With the launch of Windows 11, that engineering foresight pays off. We have delivered a zero-friction, meaningful experience that remains the only one of its kind in the industry."
More haptic effects are confirmed for future Windows 11 updates and third-party applications, so the experience should deepen as the ecosystem matures.
Logitech is framing the MX Master 4 as a platform here, not a product with a fixed feature set. That's either a great sign or a way of saying "more features later," but the base implementation sounds solid enough to be worth enabling now.
If you've already got an MX Master 4 and you're on Windows 11, it's a free update.
Pricing and availability
The haptic feedback feature is available now as a free firmware update through Logi Options+, compatible with the latest version of Windows 11. New MX Master 4 units shipping from Autumn 2026 will include the feature out of the box.
The MX Master 4 retails for $229 in Australia and is available at JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, and direct from Logitech's Australian website.
