Ecovacs is launching its newest robot vacuum cleaners with a an absolute bang, carving up to $1,100 from the retail price with its launch promotion.

Ecovacs has been pioneering robot vacuums as long as I've been reviewing them (well, technically longer, even), and the new X8 Max Pro Omni and T80 Omni are designed to give a thorough home clean without too much effort from you.

The technology shared across both models is ECOVACS' OZMO ROLLER instant self-washing mopping system. Rather than dragging a wet pad around your floors, the roller spins at up to 220RPM and continuously cleans itself as it operates, which should mean fewer streaks and less cross-contamination between rooms.

Both robots also run ECOVACS' AIVI 3D 3.0 navigation, which maps your home and adapts in real time around furniture, pets, and whatever else ends up on the floor.

DEEBOT X8 MAX PRO OMNI

The X8 MAX PRO OMNI is the flagship of the two. If you've been following the DEEBOT X8 line, this is a meaningful step up in both cleaning power and smarts.

Suction is rated at 16,600Pa with 16.3 L/s airflow, enough to pull embedded dust out of carpet while still handling larger debris on hard floors.

The Triple Lift System automatically separates the vacuum and mop functions when transitioning between floor types, so the wet roller won't drag across your rugs.

For pet owners, ZeroTangle 3.0 Anti-Tangle Technology manages hair build-up on the roller brush, and TruEdge 2.0 with a 3D Edge Sensor pushes the robot right up against skirting boards and corners.

AI Stain Detection 2.0 lets it identify problem spots and respond accordingly, and the YIKO voice assistant adds hands-free control.

At 98mm tall, it should slide under most sofas and beds without issue.

DEEBOT T80 OMNI

The T80 OMNI delivers much of the same core experience at a lower price point. Its suction is actually rated slightly higher at 18,000Pa, and it carries the same OZMO ROLLER and AIVI 3D 3.0 navigation as the X8.

It also shares ZeroTangle 3.0 and TruEdge 2.0, and adds TÜV Anti-Tangle Certification as third-party validation of those hair-handling claims.

The OMNI station on the T80 is worth calling out specifically. It washes the mop using temperature-controlled hot water, then dries it at 45°C to keep it fresh between sessions.

The station itself is compact enough to tuck into a laundry or hallway corner, which is a practical consideration in many Australian homes.

If you want to see how ECOVACS' recent OMNI stations compare in real-world use, my DEEBOT T30S Combo review is worth a read.
