Portable monitors are a game changer for productivity when you're out and about. But a dedicated display is rarely a cheap purchase.
Laser has mixed things up this week launching a 14-inch portable display for under $100. That price won't stick around though.
The LASER 14-inch Portable Monitor is on sale for $99 this month (the regular RRP is $149), available at The Good Guys and Harvey Norman through to the end of June.
LASER is a Sydney-based company that's been making affordable consumer electronics for four decades, and the portable monitor range fits squarely in that tradition.
Like the Espresso 15 Lite, the 14-inch LASER model is powered entirely over USB-C, so there's no wall adapter required. It draws power straight from whatever laptop or phone it's connected to. Built-in speakers, a Full HD IPS panel, and a 178-degree viewing angle round out the package.
If you need more screen, the range also includes a 15.6-inch non-touch model (on sale for $129, down from $169) and a 15.6-inch touchscreen version (on sale for $159, down from $199).
All three work in horizontal or vertical orientation, which makes them useful as portrait-mode second screens too. Theses promise to be well suited to anyone who has spent time comparing portable monitor options (like the Espresso Display 15 Pro) and found the usual pricing hard to justify.
LASER Managing Director Chris Lau said the range is built around how Australians actually live and work. "These monitors are designed to make everyday tasks easier and more enjoyable by giving users the freedom to create a better digital experience almost anywhere."
