Why trust us? | How we test

When I was growing up, we had a pool in the backyard that was an absolute nightmare to keep clean, particularly in winter when we never used it. I ended up swearing I would never buy a house with a pool for that reason.

Now, robotic cleaners help make that task easier, like the new Diver A10 from MOVA, which just launched in Australia. I'm starting to rethink my pool ban.

The Diver A10 is MOVA's first pool cleaner to hit the Australian market, and it's a capable debut. Priced at $1,299, it uses AI-powered navigation to clean pool floors, walls and waterlines autonomously, connecting to the MOVA Home app so you can start, stop and schedule cleans from your phone, no matter where you are.

The robot is powered by what MOVA calls EdgePulse, an AI tracking system that uses magnetically coupled wheels and hall-effect sensors to follow pool contours precisely, including 5 cm above the waterline.

PoolNavi path planning handles the routing, while 22,700 LPH suction tackles everything from leaves to fine sand and algae. A spiral brush dislodges debris before it hits the 3.5L basket.

The 240-minute runtime covers two full cleaning cycles for a typical Australian home pool of up to 50m². For larger pools, MOVA says the robot can handle up to 180m² on a single charge.

Eight cleaning modes let you customise the clean via the app, and you can set a schedule for the week ahead. After each cycle, the robot parks itself poolside and drains in three seconds.

There's an ultra-fine micro-mesh filter (rated to 3 microns, for fine particles like dust and pollen) that is sold separately. The unit does have a standard filter included which handles most debris, but if you want that extra filtration precision, budget for the accessory.

MOVA ANZ Country Manager Nancy Zhang said winter is actually the right time to buy in.

"Your pool doesn't stop needing attention just because the temperature drops. It makes winter one of the best times to invest in a robotic pool cleaner, helping you stay on top of pool care without braving the cold weather. The robot handles the hard work, but you're still fully in control of the cleaning process through intuitive apps and smart technology."
