These GameSir gaming controllers have rave reviews, and I'm keen to see why
I'm looking at a bunch of mobile gaming controllers this month to try to find the best, and these models from GameSir seem really popular. Let's unbox them and find out why.

While researching different mobile game controllers in Australia, I kept seeing fantastic reviews for models from a company called GameSir. So I decided to reach out to see if I could test their models and see if they live up to the hype.
The team at GameSir were quick to respond and eagerly sent me out the G8+ and the X3 Pro controllers to review.
Without a doubt, the G8+ is a contender for the best gaming controller in Australia. It is a Bluetooth controller that is comfortable to hold, super responsive and works with pretty much everything, from iOS and Android to the Nintendo Switch.
It isn't perfect though. I'll dive into it more when I write the review, but the documentation for this device leaves a lot to be desired. I had a huge amount of trouble pairing it at first. Once I'd cracked that puzzle, things were smooth sailing.
The X3 Pro, meanwhile is a completely different beast. It's heavy and bulky, and features a fan in the back to help maintain the temperature of your phone when playing more demanding games.
The catch is that you need to have the controller plugged in for the phone to work. While the controller itself draws enough power from your phone (via the USB-C connection) to let you use it to play games, the fan needs more juice than your phone can provide.
It does offer pass-through charging though, so your phone will stay nice and charged while the X3 Pro is plugged in and the fan is running. But that forced power connection means you lose a lot of the portability playing games on your phone provides.
I'm testing these (alongside all the other mobile gaming controllers I've unboxed) now, with the full reviews coming in the next week or two, so make sure you check them out.
