JURA is a premium coffee machine brand, but there's a scale of premium devices. If your budget doesn't stretch out to the $4,990 RRP for something like the second-gen Z10, then you might be happy to hear the company has just announced the C9.
It's a new automatic coffee machine that promises the same Swiss engineering pedigree JURA is known for, in a more compact (and considerably more affordable) package. The new machine promises to do two very different coffee jobs at once.
On one side you've got 17 coffee specialities covering the classics: espresso, flat white, cortado, espresso macchiato and a bunch more you know and love.
On the other, JURA's Light Brew mode, which produces a milder, more aromatic coffee that's ready to drink straight away rather than needing to cool down.
If you love your coffee but can't handle the afternoon caffeine hit, this might help.
Under the hood, the C9 runs JURA's Professional Aroma Grinder alongside a full-size brewing unit and the brand's Pulse Extraction Process, which the company says is designed to squeeze maximum flavour and consistency out of every cup.
You can tune strength, temperature, milk and beverage size to taste, and if you spring for the optional Wi-Fi Connect, the machine pairs with JURA's J.O.E. app for remote control and saved presets.
Design wise, the C9 borrows the wave detailing and 2.8 inch colour display from JURA's higher end range, so it doesn't look like the budget option even if it's priced like one relative to the rest of the lineup.
