Why trust us? | How we test

JURA's E8 automatic coffee machine has been one of the company's best performing machines for years now, and its 5th generation version promises to be an impressive upgrade, thanks to its ability to create 27 different beverages at the touch of a button.

The new E8 organises those beverages across three distinct brewing worlds.

Classic Hot Brew delivers the rich, intense flavour you'd expect from a quality automatic machine.

Light Brew uses JURA's new Light Extraction Process to prepare coffee at around 60°C for a smoother, lighter result that's ready to drink straight away without waiting for it to cool.

And the third world, Sweet Foam, layers subtly flavoured milk foam on top of either brew style for something a little more indulgent.

The E8 connects to JURA's J.O.E. app, which now supports a Coffee Timer feature. You can schedule your morning coffee to be ground and brewed fresh at a set time, so it's waiting for you rather than the other way around.

And yes, that means you can now schedule your coffee machine to brew you a delicious flat white to be ready for you the moment you crawl out of bed. The future is finally here.

Under the hood, the P.A.G.2 grinder automatically returns to its resting position after each cycle, which helps preserve the mechanism and keep coffee aromas consistent over time.

A new Quality Assistant also guides you through maintenance and cleaning routines to keep the machine performing at its best.

JURA also fitted the E8 with a 3.5-inch colour display for straightforward navigation, and kept the footprint compact at just 27cm wide, meaning it should fit on most kitchen benchtops without requiring a reshuffle.

If you want to see where JURA sits in its broader lineup, the JURA Z10 2nd Generation is worth a look as a point of comparison at the top of the range.
