Motorola is boosting its budget offerings with the Moto g15 and Moto g05

The new models offer Gorilla Glass 3, NFC payments and 5200 mAh battery and Android 15 for under $230.

Motorola had a massive year of launching pretty good phones in 2024. It's kicked off 2025 with a bang as well, launching two new budget devices with big batteries and running Android 15.

The Moto g15 is priced at $229, which is quite remarkable given its spec sheet. It has a 6.7-inch FHD+ display, 128GB of on board storage (expandable to 1TB via microSD), 4GB of RAM (expandable to 12GB with RAM Boost) and a 5,200 mAh battery.

On the camera front, you get a 50MP main camera with Quad-Pixel technology and an f/1.8 aperture, a secondary 5MP ultra-wide lens at f/2.4 and an ambient light sensor.

The whole phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme processor, which isn't going to compete with the latest Snapdragon processor, but should be good enough for most basic tasks.

And for audio aficionados, there's a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The cheaper g05, meanwhile, offers a lot of similar features to the g15. At just $179 RRP, it comes with just 64GB of on board storage and its display is just HD+ (though it does have a 90Hz refesh rate vs the g15's 60Hz.

But the biggest differences are in the camera, with only a single 50MP lens on the back with an f/1.8 aperture, partnered with an ambient light sensor.

Both devices offer Gorilla Glass 3, and the larger 5,200 mAh battery.
