These glasses want to help you hear better, without anyone knowing

The Nuance Audio Glasses look like regular specs, but are actually TGA-registered hearing aids, with directional mics and noise reduction built right into the frame.

Why trust us? | How we test

I've been testing the Rokid smart glasses for a few weeks (review coming soon), and one of the the things I'm struck by is how they are best suited to people who need them for a singular use case. Want a discreet teleprompter? They're great? Want a translation tool? Consider them.

The Nuance Audio Glasses are designed to serve a singular purpose as well, but arguably a more common one. These are TGA approved hearing aids in a discreet design that looks like regular glasses.

Made by EssilorLuxottica, the company also behind the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, the Nuance Audio Glasses are a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) registered medical device. That means these have been assessed as a legitimate hearing aid, not just a lifestyle gadget with a built-in speaker.

The glasses target the estimated 5.86 million Australians living with mild to moderate hearing loss. Research suggests many people hesitate to use corrective hearing devices due to stigma, cost and discomfort, and the Nuance Audio Glasses aim to take some of that friction away.

Directional microphones, noise-reduction processing and open-ear speakers are integrated directly into the frame, so from the outside they look like a regular pair of specs. There's no visible earpiece, no dome fitting, and no external signal that you're wearing a hearing device at all.

They pair with a companion app (compatible with iOS 16 and later, or Android 12 and later) for audio calibration, firmware updates and personalising the listening experience. A wireless charging pad and USB-C cable are included in the box.
