Samsung has been one of the driving forces behind the foldable phone. As brands like Motorola, Honor and OPPO are all releasing phones to help 2026 be the year of the foldable phone, Samsung is up to its eighth generation of folding phone.

And now we have a date for when it's going to be announced.

Samsung has confirmed its next Galaxy Unpacked event for July 22, with the tech giant heading to London to unveil the latest additions to its Galaxy line-up.

It's a shift in venue for a company that's held recent Unpacked events in New York and Paris.

Samsung says the event will focus on "intelligent capabilities" and "innovative form factors", which in plain English means we should expect the next round of Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip devices, likely leaning further into Galaxy AI features that adapt to how you use your phone.

That tracks with what we saw in Samsung's own Galaxy Z Fold7, and the pressure Samsung is under now that Motorola's razr fold, Honor's foldables and OPPO's Find N6 have all landed in Australia this year.

For Australians wanting to watch along, Galaxy Unpacked will stream live via Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom and Samsung's YouTube channel from 11pm AEST on July 22.

In the meantime, Australians can register at samsung.com/au/unpacked ahead of the event for early teasers, trailers and updates, plus what Samsung is calling exclusive benefits for anyone who signs up before July 22.
