Depending on who you ask, curly hair can be a blessing or a curse. For those falling into the latter group, Shark's SilkiPro could be the answer you're looking for.
The new Shark SilkiPro Straight (HT401PUANZ) is designed to do three jobs in one pass: dry, straighten and smooth. Instead of reaching for a hairdryer, then a straightener, then a serum for shine, you run damp hair through this once and you're done.
It works by combining a blow dryer's airflow with the plates of a ceramic straightener. Shark says that gets you a silkier, straighter finish in half the time it takes to air dry.
The tech doing the heavy lifting is Shark's HeatSense ceramic plates. They check the temperature 1,000 times a second and adjust automatically in Wet mode, which Shark says lets you style without heat damage while keeping results consistent.
There's also a dedicated Dry mode, which turns the SilkiPro into a more traditional flat iron for touch ups, straightening or curling on days you've already dried your hair.
Three interchangeable combs come in the box, including a wide tooth comb for stretching out curly or coily hair, plus smoothing combs for polish and shine. It's a similar playbook to what we've seen from the Shark Glam styling system, which packs five tools into one handle, and the Shark Glossi 2-in-1, which also dries and smooths in a single pass.
One nice touch is the motion sensing control. An accelerometer in the handle drops the airflow when the plates aren't touching your hair, ramps it back up when they are, then powers down completely when you set it aside.
